About The Programme

Columbia Climate School in the Green Mountains is a two-week campus-based programme in Vermont, USA, for high school students (Classes 9-12) to mobilise action, drive impact, and effect change in response to our warming planet. Engage with experts from Columbia Climate School and witness cutting-edge innovations in action. Meet, collaborate, and build partnerships with like-minded students and tap into collective strengths for action.

This two-week trans-disciplinary programme, led by Columbia Climate School faculty and researchers, will encourage learners to consider diverse fields of study within climate and sustainability. Through seminars, group discussions, field excursions, team-building and networking activities, and final projects, students will discover their own climate passions.

 

The Green Mountains programme will give students direction, allow them to gain skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving, and encourage them to take climate action in their own communities. It will also provide students with an opportunity to engage in cutting-edge climate content with Columbia Climate School experts and prepare for the college experience.

 

The programme is an amalgamation of seminars, group discussions, field excursions and networking activities that will conclude with final projects and students discovering their own climate passions and goals. 

 

Columbia Climate School’s experts join each programme with the mission to develop and inspire knowledge-based solutions and educate future leaders for just and prosperous societies on a healthy planet.

The School is a dynamic community made up of over 1,200 researchers and staff members, all involved in transdisciplinary research, partnerships, and educational activities needed to tackle climate change.

Venue: Columbia Climate School, Vermont, USA

Inclusions: Students and accompanying faculty will stay on campus at the Vermont State University campus, where meals will be provided. All course material, academic costs and ground transportation during the course will be provided. 

Certification: Upon completion of the programme, participants will receive a certificate from Columbia Climate School. 

Programme Fee: $6,790 (exclusive of travel and visa costs)
